Tracking more sunshine and summer warmth into the weekend

TODAY: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

TONIGHT: Clear and quiet overnight with lows falling to the lower 60s.

EXTENDED: The weekend will be sunny and just as hot, with highs in the upper 80s through Sunday. A pattern shift is finally expected next week as a cold front brings much-needed rain chances. Rain will likely be spotty on Monday, with better chances by Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures drop back to the lower 80s by Tuesday, and a return to the 70s is possible later next week.
