Tracking a hot weekend with a change forecast for next week

TODAY: Thursday is another hot one, with a few clouds this afternoon. Still, we'll have less clouds through the morning than we did on Wednesday so we expect a slightly warmer day. Highs likely reach the upper 80s after reaching low 80s by noon. A spot storm will be possible east of mid-Missouri across the eastern Ozarks, near Owensville at the furthest northwest. The rain chance is too low to put in the forecast, but is a possibility.

TONIGHT: What clouds are in the sky should mostly clear overnight, and temperatures will cool into the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Friday is partly cloudy and hot, once again. We'll have highs in the upper 80s near 90 by Friday afternoon. It's also another hot weekend for events in mid-Missouri, with lows in the 60s and highs in the upper 80s both Saturday and Sunday. Some increase in clouds and a spot storm chance may keep us a hair cooler on Monday. More moisture working in from the southeast will meet an approaching front from the north. The rain chance is low and Monday looks mostly dry, but by Tuesday, the cold front from the northwest is forecast to move in, driving a slightly more scattered chance for showers and storms. This should keep highs in the low 80s Tuesday, and a slight cooldown may place us in the mid-70s Wednesday.
