Tracking distant hope for rain after more warm and dry weather
TODAY: Wednesday is another warm one, albeit a few degrees cooler than Tuesday on account of more cloud cover. We'll be bright, with sunshine only being filtered by thin clouds. Highs are expected in the mid-to-upper 80s. Humidity remains low, and winds remain from the southeast around 5 mph.
TONIGHT: Skies should clear overnight, and temperatures return to the 60s by sunrise.
EXTENDED: Sunshine and warmth persists through the end of the week, the weekend, and into Monday of next week. Each day brings lows to near 60, and highs into the mid-to-upper 80s. By Monday, a cold front arrives to our northwest across northwest Missouri, southeastern Nebraska and southern Iowa. By Tuesday, this may bring a chance at rain. Timing and track are uncertain, but rain chances grow to about 20% by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Providing that this front doesn't stall to our north, we could see a cooldown from our trend in the upper 80s behind this front. Still, we should expect highs to likely remain warmer than average, which will be about 72 by then.
