Tracking another hot day with limited storm chances

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with a few storms west of Highway 63 by late afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s.

EXTENDED: Sweltering summer heat continues the next few days before we start to see our pattern finally break down late in the week. A few showers and storms are possible west of Highway 63 by late afternoon, but better rain chances hold off until Thursday afternoon as upper high pressure begins to break down and low pressure tries to move in to our north. We'll see waves of showers and storms between Thursday and the weekend, with the highest concentration of rain between Thursday and Friday. A series of cold fronts could bring a chance for rain or storms on Saturday and Sunday, but there looks to be plenty of dry time in between. Temperatures come down during the day, with forecast highs in the lower 80s by Friday. Total rain amounts between Thursday and Monday will be between 0.5" to 1".
