Tracking an end to this hot and dry spell
TODAY: Monday is a wet start for a few of us as storms overnight brought some very isolated but much needed rain. Most have missed out on rain, but another opportunity comes today. We have a mostly dry morning today, with some isolated storms likely to bubble back up in the afternoon. The best chance for rain will be after noon, through the dinner hour. Coverage is uncertain, but storms may be isolated on the low end, to widely scattered on the high end. Highs are expected in the low 90s with dew points in the mid-to-upper 60s. It will feel like the upper 90s at worst.
TONIGHT: After sunset, storms will die down, leaving us drier but partly cloudy overnight. Temperatures fall into the 60s by sunrise.
EXTENDED: Tuesday is another chance for midday to afternoon storms, however, the batch of moisture responsible with shift west, pushing rain chances mostly west of Columbia on Tuesday. Highs in the 90s and mostly dry days are forecast Tuesday and Wednesday before the next series of rain chances and a cool down. Scattered rain chances return Thursday and Friday with rain chances lingering into the weekend on Saturday. High temperatures will fall in the pattern change. Expect highs in the 80s Thursday through Saturday, with a return to 70s possibly as soon as Sunday.
