Tracking a hot and humid weekend ahead of rain chances next week
TODAY: Friday is our first return to hot weather after a more mild midweek. Sunny skies and south winds in conjunction with increasing upper level high pressure will build heat into the weekend. Friday's highs are in the low-to-mid 90s with heat indexes reaching near 100.
TONIGHT: Skies remain clear, and temperatures warm. Lows may just dip into the upper 60s for some, but remain in the 70s for many.
EXTENDED: Saturday Will be warmer, as highs reach into the mid-90s. We'll be tracking enough humidity for heat indexes to range from 101-105 both Saturday and Sunday. These are both ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days. Monday may be just as warm and mostly dry, but spot storms are possible in the evening. Tuesday and Wednesday brings a cold front through the region. We'll likely be hot again on Tuesday, with rain holding off until the evening. Timing is uncertain, but we expect some impacts to linger into Wednesday. This will likely bring a cool down into the second half of next week.
