Chiefs fans talk excitement for 2025 season
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Chiefs have wrapped up their second straight day of training camp.
Kansas City held its first public practice of the year at Missouri Western State University on Wednesday morning, inviting the entirety of Chiefs Kingdom to get their first glimpse at the team.
"It's electric. It's fun," Stephanie Ervin said. "It's a little more laid back compared to going to a game, so I like this. It's more personal."
The Chiefs have 15 practices left before training camp is complete and most of them will be open to the public. Only one more practice (Aug. 7) will be exclusive to season ticket members. For many fans in attendance, watching the team practice and getting a close look at the talent excites them most.
"I like to see the energy. I want to see execution," Danny Stevens said.
"I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most is looking at some of the new draft prospects that we've signed, see what types of talent that we have and how we can develop them into the program we have already," Austin Mack said.
Chiefs fans are also looking forward to watching how the team bounces back from its loss in Super Bowl LIX. Kansas City fell one win short of becoming the first team in NFL history to claim three straight Super Bowl titles, following a 40-22 loss to Philadelphia last season. However, fans are confident and have high expectations for what the Chiefs could accomplish during the 2025 season.
"The revenge tour starts today," Wendy Stevens said. "We're going back to the Super Bowl."
"Undefeated," Mack said.
Kansas City kicks off the upcoming season on Friday, Sept. 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.
