Traffic shift announced for part of I-70 in Columbia next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A traffic shift will begin on Tuesday, July 8 on a portion of Interstate 70 between Paris Road and Highway 63, according to a Monday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
MoDOT crews have completed building a portion of new lanes in the median and plan on reconstructing existing eastbound lanes, the release says. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the new lanes on the evening of July 8, the release says.
The eastbound ramp to Highway 63 will close until July 12, the release says.
People traveling from west of Columbia will be directed to use Stadium Boulevard to southbound Highway 63, the release says. Other drivers will be directed to exit at Range Line Street, the release says.
The work is part of the Improve I-70 Project, which aims to make Interstate 70 three lanes across the state.
