Tracking a hot work week ahead

TODAY: Monday is mostly sunny and hot again. With temperatures in the low 90s and dewpoints in the 60s and 70s, our heat index will be near 100 again today. An isolated shower or storm may pop-up near I-44.

TONIGHT: It will be another clear and warm night, until some clouds return early Tuesday. Lows remain in the low-to-mid 70s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday is another hot and mostly dry day. We will have a better chance for isolated storms in the southeast during the heat of the day, while a front to our north generates more scattered storms that may drift in during the late afternoon and evening. Highs are again near 90, except where rain falls and brings a cooler afternoon. Heat index values where the heat is greatest may again reach near 100. We expect another sunny and hot day on Wednesday. Rain chances are too low to currently forecast for Wednesday, but growing chances show up Thursday and Friday in the way of isolated to scattered afternoon storms. The weekend looks mostly dry, but we see signs of rain chances both days, with a slight inclination towards Sunday. High temperatures are trending towards 80s over next weekend into next week.
