Tracking prolonged heat wave through the weekend and well into next week
TODAY: Friday is mostly sunny, hot and humid. Highs will reach 90s for many, with dewpoints in the 70s. This will yield a heat index value near 100. Winds are from the southwest around 10-20 mph this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Skies will clear tonight, and temperatures fall into the 70s. We remain warm and muggy through sunrise.
EXTENDED: Heat and humidity stay through the weekend, with clear and sunny skies. We expect highs in the 90s and heat index values in the low 100s. This will continue through Monday. Better chances for a few clouds and limited rain chances pop up on Tuesday and Thursday, but the heat is still forecast with highs in the 90s expected alongside heat indices in the upper 90s to 100.
