Mizzou relief pitcher, local talent enters transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Another member of Mizzou Baseball's pitching staff is testing the transfer portal.

St. Elizabeth alum Brock Lucas announced on social media that he has added his name to the transfer portal with one year of eligibility, following three seasons with the Tigers.

The Mid-Missouri product pitched a career-high 50.1 innings during the 2025 campaign but took a step back compared to the year prior. Despite recording a career-best 55 strikeouts in his junior season, Lucas posted a career-worst 8.94 ERA and opponents batted .319 against him.

However, the right-handed pitcher enjoyed much better results over his 39.2 innings as a sophomore. Lucas had a breakout season in 2024, finishing the year with the team's second-best ERA (3.63) and third-best opponent batting average (.215) among pitchers with more than 10 appearances.

Lucas is the eighth confirmed pitcher from Mizzou's 2025 roster to enter the transfer portal, joining Blair Oaks alum Wil Libbert, Russellville graduate Charlie Miller, Tony Neubeck, Kaden Jacobi, Josh Kirchhoff, Seth McCartney and Jaylen Merchant.
