Tracking strong storms with hail and wind tonight, dry Monday

TONIGHT: Scattered strong storms south of I-70. Some storms could bring strong winds and hail before 10:00 p.m. Mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of the area until 10:00 p.m. Storms could potentially bring large hail greater than quarter size, and 60+ mph winds, especially across western and southern portions of Mid-Missouri through this evening. Behind the cold front, tomorrow will be cooler and breezy with highs in the upper 70s and sunshine. Tuesday and Wednesday look seasonably warm in the low 80s with sunny skies before the pattern shifts a bit to become more active. Dew points increase at the end of the week, so it will be more humid and storms could be heavy rain producers between Thursday and Friday. Wind shear is lacking at the end of the week, so the overall severe risk is looking low for now. Temperatures remain in the lower 80s next weekend with low rain chances in the extended forecast.
