Tolton takes fourth place at 2025 MSHSAA Baseball Championships

OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fr. Tolton Catholic is adding a second state baseball trophy to the display case.

The Trailblazers (22-8-1) settled for fourth place at the Class 4 State Tournament, losing 2-0 to Sullivan (19-10) in their final game of the 2025 season. However, this year's results still represent the team's second-best finish in program history.

Miscues proved costly in this contest. Tolton committed three errors, which resulted in both of Sullivan's runs in the first and second innings.

Despite the defensive trouble, Wyatt Quevreaux delivered a strong, four-inning start on the mound, allowing zero earned runs on just three hits with one strikeout. Joseph Craig and Ryan Deakins also pitched a pair of clean innings out of the bullpen.

The Class 4 District 8 champions out-hit Sullivan by a 6-3 margin in the game, but the Trailblazers struggled to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Tolton finished 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position, and the team's only hit in that situation culminated in a baserunner being thrown out at home plate.

Lucas Wietholder posted Tolton's only multi-hit performance, ending the MSHSAA Baseball Championships with six hits, including two doubles and two RBIs, in eight plate appearances. Kaden Schremmer, Liam Newman, Alex Frost and Myles Putnam also recorded one hit each.

Tolton ends a successful season under first-year head coach Tre Morris with a 22-8-1 overall record, its fourth district title in five years and the program's second appearance in the Final Four.
