Tim Jamieson stepping down as Mizzou pitching coach
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Baseball will be in the market for a new pitching coach this offseason.
A team spokesperson confirmed to ABC 17 Sports that longtime Mizzou head coach and assistant Tim Jamieson will not return as the program's pitching coach for the 2026 season. However, it has not been determined if he will remain on staff in a different role.
Jamieson, who previously served as the team's leader for 22 seasons (1995-2016), returned to the Tigers as pitching coach on head coach Kerrick Jackson's staff in 2024.
However, MU's pitching staff did not yield much success under the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame inductee over the last two seasons. The Tigers posted a 23-32 record with a 5.80 ERA and a .266 opponent batting average during the 2024 campaign. Then, the team's struggles on the mound amplified this year. Mizzou recorded a 16-39 record with an SEC-worst 9.19 ERA and a .314 opponent batting average in a season plagued by injuries to the pitching staff. MU's team ERA was 284th-best out of the nation's 299 NCAA Division I baseball programs.
Mizzou will begin searching for Jamieson's replacement, striving to post a team ERA below the 5.00-mark in a non-shortened season for the first time since 2019.
