Tracking a quiet weekend ahead of a chance for strong storms next week

TODAY: We're tracking showers early Friday morning, as an area of low pressure passes through. As it leaves, a cold front will turn our winds more westerly at a rate of 10-15 mph. This will keep highs in the 70s. A slight chance for rain continues on an isolated basis into the afternoon, but we'll be mostly dry through the day, transitioning from mostly cloudy this morning to partly cloudy in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Overnight, we'll pick up some low clouds. Temperatures cool into the low 50s.

EXTENDED: Saturday is mostly dry, with a chance at partly cloudy skies if we can shake the low clouds, otherwise, expect a cloudy and cool day, with highs in the 60s. We'll see a chance for a few showers late Saturday into Sunday morning as moisture returns. This return flow from the south will set us up for a warmer Sunday afternoon in the 70s, but also 80s and a chance for severe weather on Monday. For details on this, read our Insider Blog. Another chance for storms comes on Tuesday, but a cold front will pass us through the day, leaving us wetter, and not as warm compared to Monday. We'll have more storm chances later in the week.
