No suspect in custody following south Columbia shooting Friday night

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A person was shot in the leg Friday night in south Columbia, according to a Saturday afternoon press release from the Columbia Police Department.

The release says police responded to the 2700 block of Maguire Blvd. around 10:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Police say they learned a man had shot a gun at several people, and a bullet that had ricocheted hit a person in the leg.

"The suspect has not been located, but there is no immediate threat to the public," the release says.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

An ABC 17 News photographer saw at least nine police cruisers parked along the 2700 block of Maguire Blvd. around 11 p.m Friday. Officers carried flashlights through the parking lot of ABC Supply Company. The area is just north of the Highway 63 and Grindstone Parkway intersection.
