A man who pleaded guilty in 2023 to statutory sodomy has been charged again.

Jacob Noel, 38, of Columbia, was charged on Thursday with statutory sodomy of person younger than 12 years old.

He pleaded guilty in November 2023 to statutory sodomy with a person younger than 14 years old and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was given credit for time served and his sentence will run concurrently with all other charges.

He is being held at Farmington Correctional Center. He also sentenced in 2023 for a DWI case.

Court documents for the new charge alleged that Noel sexually assaulted the victim in May 2023. The victim allegedly told a physician in February 2024 that they were assaulted by Noel. The victim later described the assault to authorities, the probable cause statement says.

A court date for the new charge has not been scheduled.
