Officers found a pistol, meth, burglary tools and more in the possession of James Ivy on Friday, according to the Moberly Police Department.

In a statement, the department said Ivy gave officers "false information" during an interaction on Friday night in the 700 block of E. Carpenter St.

The officers later identified Ivy, who had an active warrant related to drug possession.

Moberly police arrested James Ivy on Friday on drug and weapons charges.

Officers searched Ivy, the statement said, and found "methamphetamine, pills, paraphernalia, burglary tools, and a pistol."

Ivy is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess a gun, police said.

Officers took Ivy to the Randolph County Justice Center on charges including multiple counts of drug possession, possession of burglary tools, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.
