The beleaguered U.S. Department of Education has its new leader.

Linda McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive and major Republican donor, was confirmed by the Senate on Monday. She will take over a department that has been the target of threats by prominent Republicans who say they want to see it dissolved entirely.

The Senate vote was 51-45.
