Fulton gun dealer pleads guilty to stealing, forgery, identity theft

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A gun dealer in Fulton pleaded guilty to 16 criminal charges on Tuesday.

Michael Mullet, 39, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to four counts of forgery, one count of misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card, three counts of felony identity theft, one count of misdemeanor identity theft, one count of fraudulent purchase of a gun, five counts of felony stealing and one count of misdemeanor stealing.

He was sentenced to five years of probation with a 21-year suspended sentence.

Previous reporting indicates that the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Mullet – who owned and operated Meadowlark Outfitters – on May 10, 2023, after it received several complaints from people claiming they made purchases from Meadowlark Outfitters, but did not receive the purchased products. He was accused of also opening lines of credit at the business of unaware customers and associates.

Mullet was also ordered to pay $119,344.92 in restitution in monthly $2,250 payments, which are set to begin on June 1.
