Weather Alert Day: Dangerous cold Thursday morning, slick spots possible

Light snow has exited Mid-Missouri Wednesday night, but colder air moves in tonight along with strong northwest winds.

The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team has extended the Weather Alert Day through 7:00 a.m. Thursday as wind chills are expected to dip to below zero.

Bitterly cold air could leave many untreated routes slick for the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time as you head out Thursday.

Despite cold temperatures, sunshine should help road conditions improve through the afternoon. Friday morning will be cold again with lows falling down to about 10 degrees before a warmer afternoon.
