Tracking mild temperatures and gusty winds to start the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the upper teens to around 20.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the upper 40s. Heightened fire danger south of I-70 where drought has been a concern.

EXTENDED: We're in for a cold night as high pressure settles across Mid-Missouri, keeping skies clear into Monday morning. As the surface high pressure system slides to our south tomorrow, we'll see increasing southwest winds with gusts up to 25 mph. High temperatures reach into the upper 40s, with an elevated fire risk south of I-70 thanks to those high winds and low humidity. We'll remain quiet with upper high pressure overhead through Wednesday, yielding highs near 50 each day through Thursday. Low pressure to our south will bring rain chances starting Thursday and continuing through early Saturday. No wintry weather is expected as temperatures remain above average through the end of the week into the weekend. Rain amounts will be highest along and south of I-70 where 0.5" to 1" is possible. The weekend continues to look mild with temperatures rising into the low to mid-50s by Sunday.
