COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No people were injured, but a cat died in a fire at in the 20 block of Bryant Walkway on Friday, the Columbia Fire Department wrote in a Friday press release.

CFD wrote that units responded to the fire at a multiplex at 4:38 p.m. Friday and that flames were contained to the first floor of the townhome.

The fire was extinguished in five minutes, the release says.

Investigators determined the fire was an accidental cooking fire that was caused by grease on a burner, the release says.
