I-70 rest area in Boonville to close next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Rest areas near mile marker 104 off of Interstate 70 near Boonville will be closed for several months for renovations, according to a press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The westbound rest area will close at 6 a.m. Tuesday and the eastbound rest area is expected to close in February, the release says. All work is expected to be completed by spring 2026. Signs and barricades will be posted.

“Both rest areas will have improved access in line with the guidance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the buildings will be remodeled both inside and out, including expansion to include an interior vestibule, family restroom, and vending area,” the release says.
