Tracking Thursday spotty showers and snow with a weekend winter storm

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the mid-20s with mostly cloudy skies. \

TOMORROW: Thursday welcomes some isolated snow/ rain that moves through the region north of I-70 during the early afternoon hours. Most of this stays rain as temperatures warm, with some light snow closer to Macon possible. No travel impacts expected.

EXTENDED: Temperatures drop steadily late week with highs near or below freezing. A strong system is expected to impact the area this weekend bringing wintry precipitation Sunday into early Monday. The type of precipitation is uncertain but there is good confidence in travel impacts early next week followed by dangerous cold.
