Tracking showers for some with dry weather for many

TODAY: Monday is mostly cloudy and dry, with temperatures settling near 50 for a high thanks to winds from the south this morning, ahead of an afternoon cold front. A few light and spotty showers will be possible south of HWY 50, but folks near Columbia and northward will likely stay dry.

TONIGHT: Skies remain cloudy overnight for most, with rain chances continuing and increasing south of HWY 50. Temperatures fall to near freezing in the north, but may stay in the 40s in the south.

EXTENDED: Showers continue in a spotty fashion through Tuesday in the south, leaving plenty of dry time. The last showers should leave by Christmas morning at the latest. Temperatures are stunted in the 30s and 40s from north to south on Tuesday, but mid-40s are more likely now for Christmas day. Another system working in brings temperatures into the 50s on Thursday and Friday, with rain chances likely holding off until late Thursday into Friday. Warmth continues into the weekend.
