60-year-old man seriously injured in Monroe County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 60-year-old man from Monroe City was seriously injured in a crash on Friday on Highway 24, about three miles south of Monroe City, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, a 2005 Ford 500 – driven by a 60-year-old Monroe City man – was heading eastbound when it crossed the center line and hit a 2020 Mack truck head-on. The truck was driven by a 58-year-old Columbia man, the report says.

The Monroe City man was flown to University Hospital with serious injuries, the report says. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to the report. The Columbia driver had no reported injuries.
