Jefferson City man charged with statutory rape, sodomy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged with multiple child sex crimes on Friday.
Kevin Price, 48, was charged with two counts of second-degree statutory rape and one count of statutory sodomy. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Cole County Circuit Court.
Two probable cause statements were filed in the case. One statements say the mother of an underage victim called police on Thursday, claiming that someone was yelling at the child and that she needed help checking on the youth, who was at a hotel in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street.
Price had run away from the hotel before police arrived, but he was found and arrested “in relation to another investigation,” the statement says.
The victim told police that they were “slightly intoxicated” after Price bought them alcohol on Wednesday, according to court documents. The victim allegedly told police that they were “in a relationship” with Price and that they had intercourse several times, the statement says.
In the second probable cause statement, another youth – who was the same age as the other victim – told police on Nov. 14 that they had intercourse with Price at the same hotel. The victim stated that they disclosed their age to Price beforehand, the statement says.
Price allegedly denied having a sexual encounter with the victim, claimed they shared a hotel room and alleged that the victim said they were 19, court documents say.
