Tracking a cool afternoon with a late week cold front

TODAY: Tuesday starts frigid, with temperatures in the teens at sunrise. This is as high pressure sits nearby. As high pressure moves away, south winds will return, to warm us more quickly today. Expect highs near freezing this afternoon. Winds from the south will be sustained near 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: Winds will continue from the south overnight. They pick up from the southwest early Wednesday morning, which may actually increase temperatures before sun-up.

EXTENDED: We'll start in the 30s Wednesday morning, and climb to upper 40s, with increasingly westerly winds through the day. Expect sunny skies. Wednesday night brings a push of arctic air that leaves us in the teens again Thursday morning, and in the 20s for highs on Thursday afternoon. No precipitation is expected along this cold front, and we'll expect more sunshine Thursday. In fact, we stay sunny through the weekend despite a few extra clouds and a warmup into the 50s by Sunday. Our next hint at rain holds off until Monday.
