Tracking a cold and dry week after a few snow showers Monday
TODAY: Monday starts cold, with temperatures in the 20s, and some light snow moving through the region. This snow will be intermittent and light, persisting through the morning, and tapering off by the noon our for most. This snow will primarily impact areas along and east of the Missouri River upstream of Jefferson City, and east of HWY 63 south of Jefferson city. Minor accumulations are possible, with up to a half inch at most possible. With a cold air and ground temperature, anything that falls will accumulate, and possibly create for slick road conditions, most notably in places that haven't seen snow yet. Temperatures remain near 30, and therefore below freezing for most today, with a north wind around 10-15 mph at times.
TONIGHT: High pressure moves in overnight, calming winds and clearing skies. This allows for an efficient cool down, in to the teens by Tuesday morning.
EXTENDED: After a frigid start, Tuesday climbs just above freezing under sunny skies and south winds through the day. Our warmup ensues on Wednesday, with highs forecast near 50. This is short lived, though, as a dry cold front makes us cold again on Thursday, when highs are forecast again near freezing. Sunshine remains the forecast into the weekend.
