Mizzou sweeps Auburn for seniors, awaits NCAA Tournament destination

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 24 Mizzou Volleyball gave its seniors a proper send-off to close out the regular season.

The Tigers (20-8) swept Auburn on senior day at the Hearnes Center, clinching the program's first 20-win season since the 2019 campaign. After the game, MU honored seven seniors during a postgame ceremony.

Mizzou cruised past Auburn in all three sets, winning each of them by six points or more. The Tigers won Saturday's three frames by final scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-16 respectively.

Jordan Iliff and Mychael Vernon delivered standout senior day performances, posting a game-high 14 kills each. The St. Louis native also finished with a double-double, tallying a match-leading 10 digs. Maya Sands (2) and Kiaraliz Perez Catala (3) also recorded all five of the team's service aces.

Collectively, MU finished with 51 kills, outpacing Auburn by a 23-kill margin. Along with Iliff and Vernon, Colleen Finney and Regan Haith were key contributors to that performance, posting seven kills and six kills respectively.

Up next - Mizzou will find out its NCAA Regional destination during Sunday, Dec. 1's NCAA Tournament Selection Show, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
