Tracking rain for holiday travel, cold Thanksgiving
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cool with lows in the mid-30s.
TOMORROW: Rain moving in by mid-morning and sticking around throughout the day. Highs in the mid-upper 40s.
EXTENDED: Showers look to hang around much of the region on Wednesday with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s, so holiday travel may be a bit slow. Rain looks to exit before dawn on Thanksgiving, leaving us with sunshine and colder temperatures as highs reach the upper 30s. A cold air mass continues to creep in with temperatures on Friday right around the freezing mark after a morning low near 20. On Saturday, I'm watching a clipper system that could slide in from the northwest and drop about 0.5" to 1" of snow through mid-late afternoon as highs will be right around freezing. As snow clears out, we'll see our coldest temperatures yet as lows fall into the teens on Sunday morning. Sunday does not get above freezing, and the night will be even colder with lows in the low teens. Cold air but dry weather sticks around into next week with highs in the 30s on Monday and Tuesday.
