The Kansas City Chiefs keep have found a way to scrape by with a win in nine out of 10 games, so far, in the 2024 season. KC survived a big scare at Carolina on Sunday afternoon with a 30-27 win.

With less than two minutes left in the game, the 3-7 Panthers tied the ball game at 27 courtesy of a five-play, 49-yard touchdown drive from quarterback Bryce Young and the Carolina offense. As a result, Mahomes and company only had about a minute to win the football game, but, yet again, found a way.

On the final drive of the game, Mahomes put the team on his back. He scrambled for a 33-yard run to put his team in field goal range. After that, kicker Spencer Shrader did the rest, as he nailed a 31-yard, game-winning field goal. That game-winning drive from Mahomes marked the 21st of his career.

The Panthers never had a lead, on Sunday, but continually threatened the back-to-back reigning Super Bowl champions.

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's unit allowed 348 yards of total offense, as Young had one of his best games. He completed 60 percent of his passes for 263 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Chuba Hubbard ran for 58 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries.

Mahomes was efficient, as well. He completed about 72 percent of his throws for 269 yards and three touchdowns. He used his legs quite a bit, as well, rushing for 60 total yards.

The future hall of fame quarterback has been getting good use out of his tight ends lately and Sunday's game was no different. Noah Gray caught two touchdowns passes, which marks four touchdowns for the 25-year-old in four game. Travis Kelce caught six passes for 62 yards, as the second-leading receiver on team, on Sunday.

Things haven't been easy for the Chiefs in 2024, but the team has gotten itself to a 10-1 mark on the season. Sunday's win was the fifth time that the team has won a game in the final seconds this season. It's also the eighth win of the year that's come by a one-score margin.

Up next - Kansas City will get set for a Black Friday matchup with the rival Raiders at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff on Friday, Nov. 29 is at 2 p.m.
