Woman shot at Douglass Park in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman was rushed to a hospital after she was shot Tuesday afternoon in a central Columbia park.

Police at the scene did not provide the woman's name or age. Police were sent to Douglass Park at about 3:40 p.m. and found the injured woman and evidence that shots had been fired, Columbia Police Department Sgt. Ryan Brunstrom said.

According to a press release, the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

At least 10 officers responded to the scene. Officers put up police tape around a pavilion. The Columbia Fire Department also responded.
