Tracking fall air and Saturday’s showers

TODAY: Friday is increasingly cloudy and similarly November-like in regard to temperatures as highs settle again in the upper 50s to near 60.

TONIGHT: Winds will be northerly today, but shift to become southerly overnight. We'll stay dry through midnight.

EXTENDED: Showers now look to arrive after 3 a.m. at the earliest, and be most prevalent between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as the move through from west to east. This rain will be light and intermittent, but stick around much of the day, leaving behind anywhere from a quarter to half an inch of rain. Showers may just clear in time for Kickoff at Faurot Field, but it will be a close call. Expect a chilly evening in the 50s with wet seating. Notably, winds will remain southerly after rain exits. Sunshine dominates the forecast next week, which helps temperatures climb into the mid-60s by Tuesday, but slim rain chances do pop up on Wednesday.
