Malfunctioning HVAC unit caused Columbia Public Library to be evacuated Thursday morning
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Public Library was evacuated Thursday morning after an HVAC system malfunctioned, according to the Columbia Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the scene on 100 East Broadway just after 7:30 a.m.
Fire crews on scene told ABC 17 News that smoke was coming from the HVAC unit and a fire alarm was pulled by someone inside the library.
Firefighters on scene were on the roof of the library where the HVAC system is located, according to CFD.
ABC 17 News crews on scene saw light smoke coming from the roof of the building.
No injuries were reported.
Daniel Boone Regional Library's public relations director, Mitzi St. John, said in a media alert that the library would be closed for the rest of Thursday.
