Columbia Police seen investigating reports of shots fired Sunday in downtown Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department was seen investigating reports of shots fired and a fight in downtown Columbia at around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Patrol Lieutenant Andy Muscato with Columbia Police told ABC 17 News at the scene that the department was called to the 900 block of Broadway for reports of shots fired and a fight.

According to Muscato, officers did not find a victim, but were seen investigating the area. Crime scene tape went up around 2:30 a.m., stretching from Hitt St. to 9th St.

Officers were seen investigating a car and the ground in front of Wingin Out located at 916 E. Broadway.

ABC 17 News saw around eight Columbia Police Department cruisers and a Columbia Police Department truck.

Crime scene tape came down at around 2:45 a.m. and the scene was cleared.

No suspect details were given.
