JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City on Wednesday released a Request for Proposals that is aimed at redeveloping some properties in a neighborhood near East Capitol Avenue.

A press release says the RFP focuses on five properties, with four vacant parcels in the East Capitol Avenue area and one parcel at 320 East Miller Street. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 5, according to a city website.

A property at 212 Jackson Street has an existing structure in need of demolition, due to its current condition, the release says. The city is taking bids for the demolition and will include the vacant lot, the release says.

The available properties include:

  • 528 E Capitol Ave.
  • 517-519 E Capitol Ave.
  • 209 Jackson St.
  • 212 Jackson St.
  • 320 E Miller St.

Those properties were acquired by the Jefferson City Housing Authority through eminent domain and then transferred to the city, the release says.
