Boonville middle school temporarily evacuates after outdoor air system leaks

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

Students at Laura Speed Elliot Middle School in Boonville were temporarily evacuated from the building on Friday after its dedicated outdoor air system had a leak, according to a notification on the school district’s website.

Students were brought outside “to allow fresh air to be recirculated throughout the building,” the alert says.

Students were allowed back into the building “and assumed their regular academic routine,” according to an email from Boonville R-1 School District Superintendent Mark Harvey. The email was sent at 1:30 p.m.

These pair of alerts were on the Boonville R-1 School District website on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.
