Burden III, Noel headline Mizzou’s Week 8 injury report

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 19 Mizzou listed both its top rusher and second-leading receiver on the team's initial Week 8 injury report. Wide receiver Luther Burden III is considered probable to suit up for Saturday's game against Auburn while running back Nate Noel and linebacker Triston Newson are labeled as questionable to play.

Burden III is nursing an apparent shoulder injury he suffered in the third quarter of last week's game at Massachusetts that forced him to leave the contest early. Noel did not play a snap in that game due to back tightness.

Newson also missed Mizzou's Week 7 date with Massachusetts, but during Tuesday's press conference, head coach Eli Drinkwitz said he expects the linebacker to return to action for Saturday's homecoming game.

Wednesday's initial injury report follows the announcement that a pair of players, linebacker Khalil Jacobs and defensive end Joe Moore, suffered season-ending injuries last week.
