Rain and snow pushing in
WEDNESDAY: Rain and snow mix will push in this morning and will be sticking around through the afternoon. Impacts are expected to be fairly limited while the sun is up with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. Still want to take it easy on the roads since slick spots are possible where it snows a bit heavier for periods of time. To check where some of those spots may be throughout the day, here's a link to our Stormtrack Doppler Radar.
TONIGHT: The snow will start to add up on the roads once the sun sets, with some minor accumulations possible. Road conditions will likely deteriorate quickly and may be tough to rebound as lows fall into the single digits. Wind chills will be below zero, adding to the threats tomorrow morning. Snow will be tapering off quickly after midnight.
EXTENDED: Roads might struggle to improve initially Thursday before we can add some sunlight to the mix and help road crews out a bit more. Temperatures will only top out in the teens with Arctic air firmly in place by the afternoon. Lows fall to near zero overnight with wind chills for Friday morning in the negatives across the board, which is why we extended the Weather Alert Day through Friday morning. We will warm up on Friday back to near the freezing mark, and continue the trend into the weekend, with mid to upper 40s on Saturday and low 50s by Sunday. A weak frontal boundary will try to move through Sunday but looks like it could move through dry. We continue the warming trend for the start of next week.
