Tracking a few frigid mornings

TODAY: A few mid-to-high level clouds leave us partly cloudy at times, but expect a bright day on Monday. Temperatures are cool early, in the upper 30s and low 40s through sunrise, but a rebound to near 60 is expected through the day. A continued northerly breeze will keep us all out of the 70s.

TONIGHT: High pressure from the north will settle into the region through the day. This has us clear, until around 7-9 p.m. tonight, when clouds will increase as a trough of low pressure aloft slides in to the region from the northeast. This will increase clouds, keeping us a few degrees warmer, but it will also increase winds early Tuesday morning. Winds may gust to 20 mph, meaning even though temperatures will be closer to 40, we may still feel like 30s.

EXTENDED: Breezy conditions all day on Tuesday will have you wanting a jacket through the day, especially as these winds keep highs in the 50s. We'll be coldest Wednesday morning as the core of another highs slips overhead. This will have us near freezing for some, and a Freeze Watch is in place for some of our northwestern counties. Warmer air returns the rest of the week, putting us in the 60s Wednesday through Thursday, with 70s expected over the weekend.
