Two arrested in connection with reports shots fired call on Boyd lane early Saturday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An adult and a juvenile were arrested early Saturday morning in connection with reports of shots fired in the 1500 block of Boyd Ln. early Saturday morning, according to a press release from the Columbia Police Department.

The release states that at around 3 a.m. Saturday, Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Boyd Ln. Evidence of gunfire was found, according to the release.

When officers arrived, they saw a stolen car fleeing from the area. Officers pursued the car to the dead end of N. Waterfront Dr. and five suspects got out of the car and ran away from the officers on foot.

The suspects left the car in drive when they got out, causing it to roll into a lake at the dead end of N. Waterfront Dr.

Columbia police arrested Z'Kardia Williams, 19, of Columbia and a juvenile on charges of second-degree tampering and resisting arrest. Additional suspects are outstanding at this time, according to the release.

The Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in getting the car out of the lake, the release states.

The release states this is an ongoing investigation.
