Boone County investigators claim ‘substantive evidence’ of years-long child sex abuse
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Sheriff's Office said Friday that investigators had found "substantive corroborating evidence" that a 72-year-old man had sexually abused a girl for years.
Deputies arrested David E. Lee, 72, of Columbia, on suspicion of possessing child pornography, statutory sodomy, statutory rape and sexual exploitation of a child, the sheriff's office wrote in a Facebook post.
The investigation began last month after the sheriff's office got a complaint about a man sexually abusing a girl over several years, starting when she was 7 years old, the post says. The post did not provide more details of the allegations and said the investigation is ongoing.
Lee was in the Boone County Jail without bond Friday. Information about charges against him was not available in online court records Friday evening.
