Latest drought monitor updates

The latest drought monitor released earlier this morning at 9 am where most of Mid-Missouri continues to see similar conditions to that of last week. Much of the reason remains in dry to moderate conditions.

The area of greatest stress remains in southern portions of Moniteau county extending southwest through Benton and Camden counties. This area has not seen considerable rainfall in the last several months.

This area remains the same through the latest updates, but a changed area from the previous update remains across portions of Eastern Callaway and Montgomery counties. This are has been added to the dry category.

Rainfall deficits within the last 30 days remain the worst in the area lined in the moderate drought levels. Camdenton is 2.54" below the 30-day time period.

Thankfully, eventful rain fell along the I-70 corridor just over two weeks ago helping keep this area near long-term averages.

The next ten days look to see well below average rainfall trends as high pressure continues to keep much of the region on a drier and sunnier note. This will look to worsen already drier trends across much of the region.
