Firefighters respond to duplex fire in north Columbia Thursday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters responded to a duplex fire in north Columbia early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. on the 2000 block of Mulberry Road.

Crews on scene told ABC 17 News the duplex was occupied at the time of the fire and everyone inside made it out safely.

Columbia Fire Department spokesperson Katherine Rodriguez said one person was evaluated for smoke inhalation on scene.

ABC 17 News crews on scene saw several Columbia fire trucks and smoke coming from the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigating.
