Man killed in Gasconade County crash

GASCONADE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 45-year-old man was killed in a crash early Monday on Highway 50, west of Lake Timber Ridge Road in Gasconade County, a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report says.

According to the report, a 2010 Dodge Charger – driven by Jason Roberts, 45, of Mt. Sterling – was heading westbound when it crossed into the eastbound lane and hit a 2000 Kenworth head-on. The tractor-trailer was driven by Derald Deppe, 67, of Morrison, the report says.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by the Gasconade County coroner, the report says. Roberts was not wearing a seatbelt. The report says his body was brought to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.

Deppe was brought to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, by ambulance with minor injuries, the report says. A passenger in Roberts’ vehicle – Charles Pratt, 22 of Owensville – had minor injuries and was brought to Mercy Hospital by ambulance, the report says.
