Man and woman seriously hurt after motorcycle crash in Cole County Friday night

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man and woman, both from Jefferson City, were seriously hurt after a motorcycle crash in Cole County Friday night, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, the crash happened at around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 50, .5 miles west of Route D.

The report states David Rapier, 60, of Jefferson City was driving a 1998 Honda Goldwing motorcycle with passenger Jill Pittman, 45, of Jefferson City west on Highway 50 when the rear tire blew out, causing Rapier to lose control of the bike.

The bike overturned and both Rapier and Pittman were thrown from the motorcycle.

Rapier and Pittman were seriously injured in the crash. Rapier was flown to University Hospital for treatment and Pittman was taken to University Hospital by Cole County EMS.

The report states they were not wearing helmets.
