‘Clerical error’ leads to complaint against Toalson Reisch

Missouri House Representative

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

State Rep. Doug Mann (D-Columbia) filed a Missouri Ethics Commission complaint against a Boone County commissioner candidate.

State Rep. Cheri Toalson Reisch (R-Hallsville) is running for the northern district commissioner seat against incumbent Commissioner Janet Thompson. Her tenure as state representative is ending because of term limits.

Mann said in a press release – that was dated on Monday – “that a sign posted on the corner of Business Loop and Rangeline in Columbia promotes Ms. Reisch’s campaign but fails to include the “paid for” language required under Missouri law.”

Toalson Reisch said in a statement – that was dated on Wednesday – that ““My campaign was notified that Rep. Doug Mann (D) filed a complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission that a printed material did not have the ‘Paid for By…’ on it.  It appears due to a clerical error, this was, in fact, the case and has since been corrected.”

Toalson Reisch’s release also cites Mann’s campaign being fined for a similar issue in 2022.
