Mizzou receives significant Memorial Stadium Improvements Project donation

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics has nearly reached three-quarters of its fundraising goal for the Memorial Stadium Improvements Project. MU Athletics Director Laird Veatch announced his department has received an anonymous $25 million donation for the $250 million renovation plan.

Mizzou Athletics has now raised about $90 million towards its goal of reaching $125 million in leadership philanthropic support for the project, so Veatch and his staff have achieved approximately 72% of the desired mark.

"This donation is a powerful testament to the passion and commitment of Mizzou supporters," Veatch said in Thursday's press release. "It brings us closer to achieving our vision for the future of Memorial Stadium and signals that we are building something truly special here in Columbia. As Coach Drinkwitz’s program continues to thrive in the Southeastern Conference, we will need more philanthropic leaders to join in supporting this transformational project and continue Mizzou’s incredible momentum."

Earlier this month, the UM Board of Curators unanimously voted to formally approve the Memorial Stadium Improvements Project, which will feature a new multi-level north concourse and venue-wide improvements to enhance the game-day experience.

Officials are scheduled to break ground on the renovations on Nov. 30, the same day as Mizzou Football's regular season finale against Arkansas. The entire project is expected to be completed by kickoff of MU's 2026 football season.
